To find out the requirements of the licence type you require
to get on the road, simply click on the letter which cross

A

| You need to apply for a provisional licence and once you
pass the CBT course you can ride a moped provisionally until
you pass the theory test and practical test. |
B

| You can ride a moped and you may carry pillions. |
C

You need to apply for a provisional motorcycle licence
and once you pass the CBT course you can ride a scooter
up to 125cc provisionally until you pass the theory test
and practical test.
If you require an A1 licence you have to take your test
on a Scooter of between 75cc and 125cc. However for a Cat
A licence the practical test has to be taken in a 125cc
scooter and after 2 years you can ride any size scooter. |

You can ride a 50cc moped or provisionally ride up to
125cc scooter.
If you require an A1 licence you have to take your test

| You have passed the A1 test, so you can ride any scooter
up to 125cc for 2 years. After that period you can ride
any scooter size. |

| You can gain a moped licence by completing the CBT course
or ride provisionally any scooter up to 125cc for a period
of 2 years by which time you need to have passed the A1
or A practical test. |

| You can ride a 50 cc scooter with out any restrictions
and a scooter up to 125cc provisionally. There are two alternatives:
either pass the test for the A1 category in which case you
will be able to ride scooters up to 33HP or pass the category
A direct access test in which case you will be able to ride
any size scooter. |

125cc scooter, after you have successfully completed the
CBT course. If you require an A1 licence you have to take
your test on a Scooter of between 75cc and 125cc.
However for a Cat A licence the practical test has to be
taken in a 125cc scooter and after 2 years you can ride
any size scooter. If you however passed your car-driving
test before February 2001, you can ride a 50cc scooter with
no restrictions.
We would however highly recommend you take the CBT course,
as this is essential training for safe riding. |
